More specifically Netbeans version 7.3 and its background scannning.
I do not know how looked version 7.2. Somehow I missed it, but I heard that the new 7.3 is much better, faster, and generally worth it to install.
The problem that tormented me every day in version 7.1.x, was the long scan after switching IDE projects. Sometimes it took a few or more minutes.
To my surprise, version 7.3 scanning takes place in the background without interfering with the work. The perfect solution to my problems. I thought I would never come back to this nightmare.
Unfortunately, all worked about a week or two.. For a few days my scan can not be completed, even though the progress bar shows 100%. Maybe nothing important , but the use of the Navigator window is not possible. I can click on the desired function even 20 times, and I will not be moved to the corresponding block of code.
The second thing is that it works very slowly. Sometimes I write a few words, but the screen is still. The letters appear after a few seconds.
The project I’m working on is very large, using SVN and synchronized remotely with a local server.
Today I started to install the latest version of SVN. NetBeans also will be installed from scratch. If that does not work, then maybe Eclipse?
I am sorry to say goodbye to my favorite IDE that I use continuously for 7-8 years. Why have you broken it?
Upgrade to the latest SVN version and re-install Netbeans helped. Scaning of project took about an hour, but was able to complete the process. For how long? We’ll see.
