Today something from the border of hacking and stupid application settings. A month before the half marathon I’ve purchased Endomondo Premium. My goal was to use training plans provided by the application. My preparations run for over a month and I wanted to use help from the application. To my surprise, the minimum training period is six weeks. Seemingly small inconvenience, but much pain in the ass.
Half Marathon, in which I want to start will take place on December 8, which is for 3.5 weeks. I was hoping to find training plan that lasts four weeks, or-I can reduce some of the available. Unfortunately, the selection panel after selecting end of schedule by Dec. 8- returned a message that the minimum completion date is December 25. There is no option to join in the middle of the plan. A stalemate.
So I decided to beat the system 🙂
I use iPhone 4 that is running 7.0.
I chose the plan for beginners for six weeks. Here’s how the „I joined” to the plan throughout its duration:
1 I turned on airplane mode with support for wi-fi.
2 In the phone settings (Settings-> General -> Date & Time> Set automatically TURNED OFF
3 I set the date 22/10/2013 (over 6 weeks for my target date)
4 In the Endomondo app I chose training plan from the start date of October 25 and ending December 8, 2013.
5 The plan starts to work.
6 Repeated actions 1-3 in the reverse direction, returning today’s date.
Endomondo shows that I’m training since two weeks and the plan finish in selected period.
